Although this project is older, I recently stumbled through it again and thought a re-post was necessary. Poignant. No wonder women have body issues...

Ya, I really like this. After seeing it, I kinda stopped feeling ugly. Lol.
ReplyDelete@Akirah it's pretty powerful stuff and no one even stops to think about it. You should never feel ugly, anyway :) Thanks for stopping by Akirah.
ReplyDeleteThe interesting thing is that the Unilever owns both Dove and AXE. They are responsible for those stupid ass commericals that make women look like a bunch of blood hounds any time a man puts on Axe bodyspray. Those commericals completely objectify women - such an interesting paradox for the company to run both commericals. See more here: http://blog.foghound.com/183/
ReplyDelete@Erica, you're right. I remember hearing about this in 2007. It seems in the business and advertising world, ethical implications don't trump money. It is very hypocritical, but I still appreciate this ad because it at least gives a vision into something important here with airbrushing and unrealistic terms of beauty. Thank you for pointing Unilever out here, the link is very informative.
